Waiting Continues

Tonya and I are continuing to wait to hear from the SDA on our next referral date - hopefully we will get some news later today or (more likely) tomorrow. We'll try to post when we hear something!

I've posted a few pictures at the bottom of the page - we've taken lots of photos to share once we return to the US.

Hi Guys,
Erikka and I believe you did the right thing in the nyet or refusal or refusnik or whatever they want to call it because you should have had more options with healthy kids and more time to decide. On the practical side of things and, I know this is crass, but did you say that you would pay to see the healthier children. Please do not take offense at that but I know what they think and money is the real answer not idealism or even the fact that you care to help a child. They understand money and if said nicely and quietly, maybe, just maybe, you will be brought into a bigger room with more options put in front of you.
Joe, I said in an email that it is like having a miscarriage at 6 months when you do not get the child after all this but God will be with you and with the child you bring home one day. The preparation, waiting, finances, surreal experiences, and heartbreak will indeed find you standing stronger, taller with proper sugar levels and the courage to say no when they try to shame you into a yes. Please know that our 4 children, Erikka and I are saying nightly prayers and we know that with God you can do anything but without God you can do nothing. Please let us know if you need extra finances, trinkets or anything to help you face the next day because we are here for you as I am sure your many friends and family are there for you and Tonya. I would write more but ranting via a blog has never been my strong point so I will leave you with this thought-----
Maria Angelina Buico is now our daughter and our fourth child, she does have brain damage, cost us money, surreal experiences and a frightening escape across a closed border at 3 AM but people say she is so lucky to have us for parents--hooey; really we are the lucky ones to have her as she is the same blessing that you will receive no matter what the path that you must take!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU AND TONYA and we pray again that it will all work out!!!

I am waiting with baited breath! So glad you have a blog for me to stalk.

The main article on the front page of the N&O today was about Mandala and adoptions. I thought about you two all day. You're in our prayers.

I have kept you close in thought and prayer and I have felt every day has been a month. I am hearing more from Wendy and am getting almost daily updates, which is helping. YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT! I PROMISE! Whether it means you come back and go again, I am completely sure God has children in your future. You two are going to be the best parents! Keep your chin up, FEEL a hug from over here and know there are good things coming! I loved the pictures. ONE day, you might look back on this and grimmace/laugh/chuckle! It will come to a conclusion...you will be successful! What a history lesson you can give your current "kids," ya know? I love you...
